If I choose study in Poland, do I need to learn Polish ?

Poland speak Polish as their formal language. Polish people communicate with each other in Polish. But in Poznan University of Medical Sciences and Medical University of Lublin, we offer fully English teaching program for our International students. Our professors and lecturers are teaching in English for 100% both at the basic science education level and clinical sciences level. Our school will arrange limited study hours for our international students learn basic polish for the daily life. But 90% of our graduates in past 12 years know very less of Polish, but they graduate successfully and achieved the international medical licenses. So we can say , if you don’t plan to live in Poland after graduate ,properly you don’t need to know too much about polish.

English will be always the first language when you study our medicine program But at the sometime, many other medical schools in non-English speaking countries, announce they provide English teaching program in Medicine, but some of them need the international students learn local language as well, because till clinical sciences level, all teaching will change to be local language. The most important reason is because there are too limited teachers who teaching the clinical sciences can speak fluency English. So students would better prepare yourselves have basic language level before choose to study at these countries. But for our medical schools, clinical sciences study will separate in small group that not over 4 students, once communicate with the patients, the teacher will help to translate the information from the patient to the students, and explain the knowledge at the same time .
